Bledsoe Riggert Cooper James has been meeting the needs of public, commercial, and residential clients for over 21 years as a Service Oriented Land Survey and Engineering Firm. From the beginning, we have prided ourselves in satisfying the technical needs of each of our clients. In 1992, our first offices opened in Bloomington and Bedford, IN, and we began providing land surveying services close to home. Since then, we have opened an office in Paoli, IN and the services our company offers have grown to include both civil engineering and GIS development.
A native hoosier, Ben was raised in Loogootee, Indiana. He attended Purdue University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Land Surveying. After graduation, he worked for 14 years as a Crew Chief and Survey Manager working on projects ranging from Boundary and Topographic surveys to managing survey crews constructing a lock and dam on the Mississippi River. Ben was an original founder of Bledsoe Tapp & Company, which has grown into Bledsoe Riggert Cooper James. Ben’s 35 years of experience have given him a thorough understanding of both the technical and legal sides of surveying. He has Professional Licenses in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. In his spare time (which is not much) he enjoys golfing and hiking
Bill was born and raised in Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison. He spent several years working for the U.S. Navy in civil engineering, project management, and construction administration in Louisiana and Indiana. Before joining the company in 1995, Bill served the City of Bloomington, first as City Engineer and later as Assistant Director of Utilities. Throughout his career, Bill has had a great deal of experience with public works projects, site development, and infrastructure improvements. As a Professional Engineer, Bill holds registration in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Bill is active in the community, serving on a number of local government boards. He also enjoys swimming, and is a member of the DOC IU Masters Swim Club
Marty has over 20 years of experience in the land surveying profession and is licensed in Indiana and Kentucky. Marty has managed land surveying offices in Bloomington and Bedford, and served as Greene County Surveyor from 1992 to 2000. His surveying experience includes managing a diverse range of projects including private, commercial, and government projects. Marty has a particular expertise in transportation projects including highway construction engineering, bridge construction, topographic and boundary surveys on Federal Naval Bases, INDOT driveway permit applications, and right of way development. He has also completed INDOT’s Right of Way Plan Development Training.
Matt is a licensed surveyor in Indiana and Kentucky, and is currently the office manager of Bledsoe Riggert Cooper James's Paoli, Indiana office. Matt has over 15 years of experience in the land surveying profession. His surveying experience includes a wide range of private, commercial, and government projects. He has prepared and managed surveying services for transportation projects including highway construction engineering, bridges construction, city street design, county road layout and design, INDOT driveway permit design, and right of way development. Matt has also completed INDOT’s Right of Way Plan Development Training
